Interview:

I want to thank you for doing this interview with me. I know time is a precise commodity. So, I’ll get right to it. What’s your favorite genre to read?

All of them!  I can’t pin down just one, as I’m one of those weirdos that is likely to lose one’s mind without variety. Although I do think I end up reading the most in equal measures of Romance and Thrillers.

Romance of almost all types are my personal favorite. Do you venture into other genres other than your preferred?

My reading ventures are like a consistent loop, from one genre to another, then back, I cover everything.

I’m with you. I’ll try about any genre if the book sounds interesting. What are you reading now?

Last night I finished up the 3rd book in L. J. Shen’s Sinners of Saint series, Ruckus! It’s an excellent series, every single book. I bawled my eyes out last night! https://didioviatt.wordpress.com/2017/08/11/review-ruckus-by-l-j-shen-5-stars/

Sounds like a great read.

Tonight I’ll be cracking open Havana Heat, by Kim Knight.

I have this on my to be read list. I can’t wait to read it. Do you have a favorite beverage to read with?

If I’m squeezing in a morning chapter, then I’d have to clearly say coffee. If I’m evening reading (which is usually the case) I’d have to go with a tall glass of Red moscato.

I’m team coffee too, but I sneak in a cappuccino occasionally (that’s our secret). White Moscato is a must for evening reading for me but I’m the opposite I don’t get much time to read at night. Tell us are you self-published or traditional?

I’m proud to be on team Indi! 🙂

You’re an inspiration to new Indie writers like myself. You’re so hard working and fun to chat with. You career lights a fire under me to keep at the dream. How long have you been a writer?

I wrote my very first story in fifth grade, and it actually won a regional non-fiction short story competition. BUT, I didn’t actually consider myself to ‘be a writer’ by profession until last year when I published Aggravated Momentum. For me and my career, that book was a game changer.

I’m glad that you’re reaching the success level that makes you feel great about writing. Getting there takes time and dedication. You’ve put in a good foundation with your other works. Speaking of, How long did it take you to write your first book?

One full year for my first novel.

Wow! I’m still working on my first novel. I had it finished then decided it needed more plot. I started it in 2015. It took me over a year just to finish the first rough draft. It’s my only paranormal finished story presently with a heavy inset of romance. What’s your favorite genre to write?

So far my favorite is any kind of psychological suspense. Putting myself in the head of psychologically twisted characters is a challenge, and it reminds me of my full potential.

I don’t know if I have what it takes to write that but I’m sure it would be fun to try. Any advice for me or other new authors?

Be patient, and take your time! Don’t get in a hurry because you are excited. You want your work to be perfect always!

Sound advice. Can you share a bit about where do you get the most writing done?

I usually have two little ones running around me. My son just turned five and my daughter is nearly three. I find it easiest to leave my manuscript pulled up and my laptop sitting on the kitchen table. I rarely use my office. My writing is mostly done in twenty minute sessions throughout the day, and my kitchen is a central point of my house lol.

Both of my kids are in school now but I still find keeping my laptop close at all times a useful approach to writing for me too. On to my favorite part, tell you about your latest project.

My latest and greatest is titled Search For Maylee. It’s possibly my favorite of all my works so far. (Granted, I say that for each one as I’m working on them. but who doesn’t right?) Autumn my Main Character is an amazing woman who hasn’t given up faith on finding her missing niece. She puts her best self forward and takes action when everyone else seems to have forgotten about her Maylee.
