Emails, Emails, and more Emails

Why do I get so many emails?

Because I follow everyone. Writers who have published, writers wishing to publish, and anyone else who has anything to do with writing.

I think I’ve mentioned this before but I live where our internet options are limited. So, I have limited internet. I had reached 90% of my data so I decided that was a good time to take a short break from social media. I left for a few days and I come back to hundreds of emails. I’ll never get caught back up. Never. I’ll never have enough internet to.

I’m going to have to start using the reader feature and maybe follow authors on Facebook or twitter. I hate to do this. I know I’ll miss stuff. I knew this day would come but I hoped it was further off.

Plus the school wants the kids to go on certain websites so many minutes a week so mommy’s internet time must be given up for the education of her babies.

book blurb

Ten-year-old Olivia Chandler has a school she loves, good friends, a nice home, a talented mom, and a successful father she adores. Tragedy rips all of this away from her, and plunges Olivia into the foster care system, where for eight years she is neglected, humiliated, abused, and nearly raped.

Fate smiles on Olivia shortly before she ages out of the system, allowing her the means to attend college and law school.

Years later, Olivia is a successful child advocate attorney, giving a voice to children who are so easily ignored by those claiming to act in their best interest. She has little time for personal relationships, and her lifelong fear of abandonment reminds her never to get too close to anyone.

The successful attorney…

Lindsay J Pryor – Blood Torn

Lindsay J Pryor – Blood Torn is book three in the Blackthorn series.

Blood TornLindsay does it again!  Blood Torn is another great suspense filled paranormal romance.  She had me contemplating at the very beginning who the romantic entanglement was going to be between.  After that was sorted the dark tawdry fun begins!

Sophia or Sophie as her sisters call her has followed in the family tradition of getting herself captured.  She has a self destructive attitude that may not be curable by anyone.  Even if she escapes her captors she will always be a prisoner to her own guilt.

Jask the lycan leader has the same affliction.  But he is on the road to recovery.  His pack is in peril but he knows the key to their salvation.  He has to convince his captive to save his pack.

Of the two I had no favorite at the beginning, favoring Corbin, Jask’s second in command instead. By the end I couldn’t decide who I liked more between Sophia and Jask.  Sophia having grown wise while accepting her fate and Jask allowing himself to feel again.  Both have more in common then they first realize.

By the end of the story I was left in disbelief.  I got my happy ending only to have it tainted with the blood of the innocent.  Major players are revealed and motives discovered.  A horrible act is committed that I hope is rectified without further innocent blood being shed.

Blogging and Swim Team

I’ve been trying to keep my head above water when it comes to my blogging. I get behind, don’t do it as often as I should. I have ideas of things I want to share when I’m sitting in the car driving one child or the other to swim practice or dance. I think I’m going to change my schedule. Maybe not put so much pressure on myself to blog.

Swim Team – Proud Mommy Moment

My daughters swim team is a huge commitment for her. It’s three days of practice and then a meet on Saturday. We had our first meet of the fall season over the weekend. She come in with times that placed her in the faces heats of the events she competed in. She came in first in her breast stroke heat. I know swimming is sport where you’re competing against yourself and your previous time. But nothing beats the joy on her face when you tell her she won her heat. The child has never cared if she won anything in her life. She gets that from me. I’m just not competitive.

Writing Progress on Her Unexpected Life

Her Unexpected Life

I’m closing in on putting this up for pre-order. Just a few more days and I’ll click that button. Needless to say my nerves are getting to me ever time I think about it. I’ve edited and honed it. It’s a part of me. The characters are my friends and I can’t help but worry about how they will be received. Author’s jitters.

My editor and some betas are squeezing in a last-minute read. I can’t wait to get their feedback. But I’m also scared to hear what they have to say.

How is your writing journey going?

Jamie Farrell – Southern Fried Blues

Southern Fried Blues

This is book one in The Officer’s Ex-Wives Club series.

Southern Fried BluesI like this book and can’t wait till the next in The Officer’s Ex-Wives Club book comes out. As a nonmilitary gal I was a little lost at some of the abbreviations that were thrown about in Southern Fried Blues but that didn’t really deter from the overall goodness of the book. I appreciate the strength of the main character Anna (Grace) Martin but I love the chivalry of Jackson Davis. He is a good ole’ boy with a gun, dog and a truck. The stuff of dreams!

Anna is sideswiped with a decree of DIVORCE from Neil her husband and left to restart her whole life hundreds of miles from her family. She refuses to give up and sets her sights on surviving. Her goal of surviving are interrupted by Jackson as he keeps popping up in her life, asking for pie when everyone’s trying to give him biscuits. Anna has a bit of OCD and her ex used it as fuel against her but Jackson finds it cute in his Anna Grace. Anna declares that she will NEVER marry again especially not military. Jackson declares to never marry. Do their hearts have other intentions or can they have a relationship with expiration and escape the L-word?

ReBlog – Dealing with Rejection from Literary Agents and Publishers

Dealing with Rejection from Literary Agents and PublishersOne of the most difficult aspects of becoming a successful writer if you choose the traditional publishing route–probably the most difficult– is dealing with  rejection.  Every writer must come to terms with it, and even the most seasoned pros, those who have no reason in the world to doubt their abilities, say that rejection and criticism still cuts them to the bone.
